Genesis
Kendriya Vidyalaya, IGNTU, Amarkantak was founded on September 7th, 2015, by Prof. T. V. Kattimani. Initially, Shri J. R. Das held the additional charge of the school, which operated out of a temporary building within the Department of philosophy on the campus of Indira Gandhi National Tribal University (IGNTU). The school started with classes up to the fifth grade, aiming to cater to the educational needs of the children of IGNTU officials, as well as the general and tribal populations in the locality.
Lalpur, Amarkantak, known for its pristine beauty and clean environment, provided a picturesque and serene setting for the school. Surrounded by mountains, the location offered an ideal learning environment for students.
In the year 2020, on August 26, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Amarkantak moved to its permanent building within the IGNTU campus, sprawling over 3 acres of land.
